Bacon Garlic Short-Rib Loaded Sweet Potatoes (autoimmune paleo)

Rachel from Grok Grub stopped by to share an AMAZING recipe with us today: bacon garlic short-rib loaded sweet potatoes. Yeah, you read that right! The best part is that you use your slow cooker for the meat, which makes this a great meal to make when you are pressed for time! It features satisfying healthy fats and nourishing bone broth and is a recipe that I expect to become a staple in my own kitchen. Enjoy!!

Chunky Bacon and Kale Stir Fry

Today Tina from Oh Snap, Let’s Eat! is sharing a simple staple recipe with us: chunky bacon and kale stir fry! I cannot even count how many times I have eaten a meal almost exactly like this since going paleo. This is a GREAT way to make your leafy greens more palatable and to help you get excited about eating them often. Also, if you are trying to include more bone broth in your diet, you can add a little (or a lot) to this recipe. Enjoy!!

County Fair Inspired Fried Dough (autoimmune paleo)

Boy, have I got an amazing guest recipe for you today! This one comes from Libby Louer of Libbylouer.com and is for county fair inspired fried dough — and it is autoimmune paleo compliant! In fact, the dough has just 1 simple ingredient. You will love how easy and delicious this recipe is, I promise!

Paleo Orange Blossom Cookies

Hello, dear readers! I am pleased to introduce you to Erin from Pure and Simple Nourishment, who is sharing her recipe for orange blossom cookies. They are paleo, SCD, and GAPS compliant, but not autoimmune protocol (AIP) due to the almond flour. But! Don’t be discouraged — these would make an excellent recipe to test the reintroduction of almond flour into your diet, as that is the only non-AIP ingredient. Please join me in giving her a warm welcome, and I hope you enjoy her recipe!

Butternut Squash “Mac ‘n Cheese” (autoimmune paleo or spice reintroduction)

I am pleased to bring you another guest post from Angela Privin at Paleo Kitchen Lab. Last time, she shared a recipe for Autoimmune Paleo Raw “Oreo” Bites. Today, she has a recipe for Butternut Squash “Mac ‘n Cheese” that you can make 100% autoimmune paleo OR use it as a recipe to test the reintroduction of the seed-based spice cumin or the nightshade paprika. Omit the spices as appropriate based on your progress with food reintroduction and know that this recipe will still be DELICIOUS if seasoned only with salt. It is typically recommended to reintroduce nightshades last, so I would suggest trying this recipe with cumin only if you are at that stage in your AIP journey. If you already know that cumin is an OK spice for you, you can try adding the paprika with the cumin. At any rate, I hope you enjoy this recipe! I can’t wait to make it myself 🙂

How to Reintroduce Foods on the Autoimmune Protocol + Chocolate Pudding Reintroduction Recipe

Today I’m discussing food reintroduction on the autoimmune paleo protocol. I think that chocolate is one of everyone’s favorite things to reintroduce early on, so I’m sharing the recipe for an ultra-rich, creamy chocolate coconut milk pudding that I used myself as my reintroduction test food. It pairs wonderfully with fresh berries and coconut flakes for a deeply satisfying treat that is low in sugar and full of antioxidants and healthy fats. I’m also giving away a copy of Phoenix Helix‘s new e-book that walks you through the food reintroduction process step by step, so come on in to check it out!

Yuca Con Mojo + Fried Yuca Patties

Have you ever cooked with the tropical starchy root yuca? Depending on the country you’re in, it’s also called cassava, tapioca, and manioc (among others). It is a staple starch in many parts of the world. It’s delicious, low FODMAP, and makes an excellent nightshade-free potato substitute! This recipe for Yuca con Mojo is a tangy traditional Cuban preparation of this delightful root. It tastes good at restaurants but it tastes GREAT when you make it from scratch at home!

BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza (autoimmune paleo)

One night, while eating BBQ chicken thighs and AIP flatbread, it struck me that I should combine the two and make an AIP version of BBQ chicken pizza on a flatbread crust. I owe many thanks to Russ at The Domestic Man for the inspiration; I started with his flatbread recipe and modified it to end up with what is a fantastic pizza crust for both the AIP diner or anyone else who is simply following a grain-free diet. Since I have this obsession with cooking with gelatin, I’ve used it in this recipe and the resulting crust is both pleasantly crunchy and chewy at the same time. You will really enjoy this recipe!

Zesty Red Cabbage Coleslaw with Mojo Criollo Dressing

My recipe for zesty red cabbage coleslaw with mojo criollo dressing is perfect for those who don’t eat mayonnaise-based slaw because they are on an egg-free diet or just simply don’t like the taste of mayonnaise. It packs a lot of flavor with just a few simple ingredients and makes a great picnic or cookout side dish.
